David Axelrod was on Fox News and was asked if we are all better off now that the Obama-Fuhrer has been in charge of things for the last four years. In the video posted below you may notice that Mr. Axelrod does not seem to want to answer the question. Instead we get The Jedi Mind Trick, in which an alternate reality is put forward for our consumption. The problem for the Obama campaign is, of course, that the data does not in any way support the idea that we are doing better. On the contrary, when we look at unemployment, debt, taxes and other factors, we are much worse off than we were four years ago.
- Unemployment: 7.8% then, 8.3% now
- Median income: $54,983 then, $50,964 now
- Gas prices: $1.85 per gallon then, $3.78 now
- National debt: $10.6 trillion then, $15.9 trillion now
Thus Obama and his team must do everything possible to change the subject and pretend that he has no responsibility for anything that has happened in the last four years. And the spin is that this time things will be better so just pony up another vote for the Dumb Bastard and ignore all of the pain that you have been feeling because if you don’t, why you’re a racist.
