The Elite Media Monoculture and the diaper wetting GOP establishment are all in a twist over Michelle Bachmann’s claims about the ties between Rep. Keith Ellison and the Muslim Brotherhood organization.
The Muslim Brotherhood, in case you don’t know, is the grandfather of modern Islamic radicalism. In “The Looming Tower” by New Yorker writer Lawrence Wright we learn about the founder of the Muslim Brotherhood;
Hassan al-Banna completely rejected the Western model of secular, democratic government, which contradicted his notion of universal Islamic rule. “It is the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated, to impose its law on all nations, and to extend its power to the entire planet,” he wrote.
Their purpose is nothing less than the domination of the world under an Islamic dictatorship, run by themselves of course. Modern terrorist movements have their roots in this organization. And they have people in the West who are working non-stop to bring America and the West down because they know that we stand in the way of their dreams of power and glory. At The Investigative Project we learn, for example, that they are preaching the destruction of Israel. Not exactly a surprise if you have been paying attention to the violent cancer of Islam and their attacks on civilization over the years. Islam has been at war with America, Israel and the West for quite some time, even if we have been slow to see it.
Sadly, some of the people associated with The Muslim Brotherhood are Americans, mostly on the left, such as Keith Elllison. Michelle Bachmann has stirred up a hornet’s nest by stating the truth about this relationship between the left and radical Islamists and they are reacting just as you would expect.
At USA Today, DeWayne Wickham writes a hit piece on Bachmann in which he tries to paint her as a nut and a McCarthy like extremist. (Never mind that McCarthy was actually correct about communist infiltration back in the 50s, but that is another story for another time.) The Elite Media Monoculture has to try to stop people such as Bachmann from speaking openly about this below the radar subversion and the way that Islamism is working its way into the government under the Obama administration. The American people cannot be allowed to see the connections between the left and radical Islam and the ways in which they are working together to undermine and bring down the West. And so we get this attack on Bachmann for her crime of speaking the truth.
Writer Robert Spencer has a lengthy response to those who, like Wickham, are trying to dismiss Bachmann’s concerns. In this article he details the many connections between Ellison and The Muslim Brotherhood and why those connections should be troubling to anyone who values freedom and democratic society. And this message also needs to be sent to weak kneed RINO Republicans such as Boehner and McCain who don’t seem to understand the serious nature of this threat. Instead of a timid GOP establishment that is afraid of its own shadow, we need bold conservatives who are willing to fight the left and defend freedom against terrorist threats. That defense is, I think, much more likely to come from Tea Party people than from our current Republican non-leaders.
As long ago as 2006, Ellison’s closeness to Nihad Awad, co-founder of Hamas-linked CAIR, was a matter of public record. Awad, who notoriously said in 1994 that he was “in support of the Hamas movement,” spoke at fundraisers for Ellison, raising considerable sums for his first Congressional race. According to investigative journalist Patrick Poole, Ellison has appeared frequently at CAIR events since then, despite the fact that CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case — so named by the Justice Department. CAIR operatives have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Ibrahim Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements. Its California chapter distributed posters telling Muslims not to talk to the FBI.
Poole explains that “according to Justice Department, Awad is a longtime Hamas operative. Multiple statements made by federal prosecutors identify Awad as one of the attendees at a 1993 meeting of US Muslim Brotherhood Palestine Committee leaders in Philadelphia that was wiretapped by the FBI under a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant. The topic of discussion during that 1993 meeting was how to help Hamas by working in the U.S. to help sabotage the Oslo Peace Accords.” But none of that fazed Ellison.
CAIR is also linked to the Muslim Brotherhood. Awad and CAIR’s cofounder, Omar Ahmad, were officials of the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP) before founding CAIR. A captured internal Muslim Brotherhood document lists the IAP as one of the Brotherhood’s allied groups in the U.S.
