The New York Times reports that The Obama Fuhrer is furiously trying to cover up the gun running scandal known as “Fast and Furious” by claiming executive privilege for Eric Holder and the Justice Department. (isn’t that rich?) So in the rich tradition of Richard Nixon, we now have an administration trying to cover up a scandal by using the power of the Presidency to escape having to explain how and why they sent guns into the hands of dangerous Mexican drug gangs.
Of course The Elite Media Monoculture will come down on the side of the coverup, unlike Nixon and Watergate. But unlike that scandal, we now have an alternative media that will not ignore this kind of criminal activity. You can bet that alternative media will not let this story die. People have been killed over this, and the administration should not be allowed to escape justice.
And it should be noted that the motive for all of this was that the administration thought that they would be able to use this as a club against supporters of the Second Amendment. If things had gone as planned, they would have said, “look at how those American guns crossed the border: we need more gun control!” But instead the whole thing has blow up in their faces and now they are in a panic trying to push the scandal down the memory hole before it sinks the election of The Chicago Jesus.
“Until now, everyone believed that the decisions regarding Fast and Furious were confined to the Department of Justice. The White House decision to invoke executive privilege implies that White House officials were either involved in the Fast and Furious operation or the cover-up that followed,” said Michael Steel, the spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner of Ohio.”The administration has always insisted that wasn’t the case. Were they lying, or are they now bending the law to hide the truth?”
