Janeane Garofalo Still Hysterical and Desperate

Real Clear Politics brings us this video of failed D-Lister Janeane Garofalo speaking with her fellow failure Keith Olberman about all the things they hate about conservatives. She begins by making the odd claim that people like Sarah Palin and Andrew Breitbart have no credibility, but does not offer any specifics and, indeed, says that she has no desire to go into details regarding that claim. We are just supposed to take her opinion as if it were a fact, I guess. And then she lays out her other claim, which we have heard repeated endlessly, about how racist the Tea Party is.

The claims she makes here are contradictory though. On the one hand we are racist because we like Herman Cain, who is black. And on the other we don’t like Obama, because he is black. Well Janeane, you can’t have it both ways. Make up your mind.

At a deeper level, the left does not want to confront the problems in the black community in any kind of serious way because to do so would require them to admit the failure of the Great Society. Today in the black community, all of the various social problems such as violence, drug use, unwed pregnancy and so on are much worse than was the case before the civil rights movement and the decade of the sixties. Conservatives have argued that the welfare state does no favors to blacks by making them less self-reliant and sapping their traditional values in favor of big-government as savior. And indeed, should we want to lower the standards for blacks and let the left treat them as infants who are not responsible for their behavior? Or do we want to have real, meaningful standards for everyone that require that you be a person of character regardless of what you look like?

Here is the truth. As it becomes more and more clear that the left is collapsing, they will become ever more hysterical. This is the sort of thing we are going to see all the way up to the election in November of next year, and probably beyond it too. They know they are losing. They know that the American people, who are mostly on the center-right, are now rejecting them. Every day the polls for the Obama-Fuhrer get worse and worse. This sort of thing will not let up, so we have to expect lots more of it.

But remember that it is a sign that we are going to win in the end. They would not be so desperate, if they were confident of the outcome.
