At The Washington Post, Dana Milbank reports on the audience reaction to the President’s “Please, Please, Save my Job and Help Me Get Re-Elected” speech before a joint session of congress. And it is a rather sad and pathetic story too.
For while in the past Republicans and others might have been angry or fearful of The Obama-Fuhrer, now they are just laughing at him. Everyone knows he is a joke. No one is going to take him seriously again, except the die hards on the hard left. Even Democrats seemed to be just going though the motions. Everyone senses that this guy is done and he’s got nothing left. And that’s a very bad place to be.
Just ask Jimmy Carter.
