No News is Good News

Jim Puzzanghera of the Los Angeles Times reports on the situation back at the White House where the Obama-Fuhrer’s economic team has abandoned the sinking ship leaving only Timmy “tax cheat” Geitner to try and bail out the water rushing in.

The LA Times makes the standard liberal argument that “most economists” think that Obama just needs to spend more money to fix the problem. But of course that would be most liberal economists. There is a whole army of conservatives who the administration is ignoring. Those people have a different view on how to get the economy moving again and it includes ideas like getting our government spending under control, freeing up the regulations that are destroying our businesses or pushing them overseas and generally getting the government out of the damn way and letting the free market get back to doing its job again.

But, of course, the Obama-Fuhrer will have none of that.

And isn’t it interesting that Obama no longer has regular meetings on the economy since he no longer has a formal economic team?

Perhaps more telling, there no longer is a formal economic briefing in the Oval Office every morning, a gathering in which Summers, Romer, Geithner and other key advisors assessed the data and batted around ideas with Obama.
