Judge Judy, oddly enough, illustrates for us just who we are supporting with our tax dollars in this video. When you hear reports on the news about the debt debate in Washington and the fight over spending, remember that most of our budget is now made up of entitlements that go to people who have not earned them. This video illustrates the reason why I am against all welfare of any kind. Were it up to me, it would be ended ASAP now and forever.
In the old days if you needed charity you would go to your local church or other private organization and explain to them why you deserved the help. And they would determine whether you really were deserving. That’s how it was in the time before gigantic government programs took over that societal function. But as a government grows larger and larger, the citizen becomes smaller and smaller. Citizens no longer see themselves as participants in the society; only as passive recipients of government action.
The people in this video have no awareness at all that their existence is made possible by other people. And they have no sense at all that they should be responsible for their own actions and choices. That’s what gigantic government eventually does to a people. Over time there are more and more of these people and less and less of us. And we are the ones paying all the bills. Is it any wonder that Atlas is shrugging?
