One of the most remarkable things that came out of the situation in Baltimore was a quote from the Democrat Mayor of that unfortunate city, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. In a press conference the Mayor said that she ordered the police to give the rioters “space to destroy.” The Daily Caller Reports:
Baltimore mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake made a stunning admission Saturday in the aftermath of violent protests over the recent death of Freddie Gray, saying she wanted to give space to those “who wished to destroy.” And destroy, some did.
Numerous storefronts and vehicles were damaged and businesses were looted at the tail end of a day of demonstrations. Thirty-four people were arrested and six police officers suffered minor injuries. Baseball fans attending a game at Camden Yards were told to stay inside the ballpark until violence outside of the stadium subsided.
“I’ve made it very clear that I work with the police and instructed them to do everything that they could to make sure that the protesters were able to exercise their right to free speech,” Rawlings-Blake said during a press conference Saturday night.
There are a couple of observations that we can make about this statement from the highest-ranking official in that city.
It tells us that the left is tone-deaf to the needs of most normal people who, as a rule, don’t want their homes and businesses burned to the ground. Normal productive people want to have a safe environment in which they can conduct their lives without having to worry about crime and civil unrest taking away the product of their life’s work. This applies just as much to minority business owners and residents in urban areas as to anyone else. But the Democrat mayor clearly demonstrated that her sympathies were with the rioters and looters who rampaged though the city burning down buildings and wrecking autos that belong to the citizens of Baltimore. She did not stop to think that as Mayor her first responsibility is to the lawful citizens of the city who work hard and pay taxes to hire police and other first-responders to protect them from criminal events just such as this one.
Which brings us to the second point.
The primary motivation of the left is to destroy; they are good at nothing else. It should be clear by now to most ordinary folk that the left is not like you and me. There is something very, very wrong with them.
For over a hundred years the left has gradually been worming its way into positions of authority in order to advance their collectivist agenda. At every level of society the left has worked to push their ideas into the world of policy, law culture and education in the hopes of achieving their utopian vision. But all around the world the record of leftist failure is clear. In country after country the left has succeeded only in destroying civilization, destroying wealth and ruining the lives of regular people. Millions have died or been ruthlessly eliminated in leftist controlled nations in the effort to collectivize humanity. But it does not work; it never works.
The Marxist vision of the world and humanity is wrong. It is a fantasy disconnected from the real world that the rest of us live in. It cannot be made to work because it does not reflect truth of reality. But the ongoing tragedy is that facts do not penetrate the consciousness of the left nor do they deter them. The left learns nothing from their numerous failures. They continue to strive for what cannot be, and they are willing to spend as many lives as needed to get to their unicorn fairyland dream world. To them, you are just a speed bump on the highway to the collectivist paradise.
Fortunately the left can be stopped. But it requires that you, the regular productive honest person, understand just who and what the left are, so that they will be rejected when they grasp for control over you life. The left has power only because we as a nation have allowed them to have it. That power can be taken from them, and if you want to have your life and a decent society to live it in, then you must remove that power from them.
